Description

The stable at Rushmere Farm is a barn that has been converted into stables, likely dating from the 18th century and converted in the 19th century. It features weatherboarded timber framing set on a brick plinth, topped with a thatched hipped roof that has deep eaves. The structure consists of three bays with narrow aisles located on the west side and at both ends. There are three boarded stable doors and windows on the east and west sides. Inside, the stable has three framed bays and narrow aisles on the west side, as well as on the north and south ends. The roof includes queen struts with straight braces connecting to the tie beams and arcade plates, along with straight wind braces, and the common-rafter couples remain intact.
