Description

This is a late 17th-century cottage located on Chapel Street. It is two stories high and originally had one window. The roof is moderately pitched and tiled, with a tile-hung gable facing the road. A projecting right-hand section has a lower, hipped roof. The front of the cottage is plastered. A two-light casement window with a single bar is found on the first floor, while the ground floor features a sliding sash window with glazing bars. A narrow, similar window is present in the recessed return of the projection. A modern door has been added to the left side. The left return is red brick with random blue headers and contains early 19th-century casement windows. The front has a stone ground floor supported by sloping brick buttresses and a brick first floor. A low rear extension is present. A large, rebuilt chimney is a prominent feature.
