Description

1 The Square is an early 16th century, two-storey building with four windows. It features a very high-pitched tiled roof with two gabled dormers and an off-centre chimney that has been rebuilt. The first floor overhangs and displays exposed beam ends, with close studding and knapped flint filling. The ground floor is rendered and has modern but unobtrusive shop fronts. The first-floor windows have been restored and are leaded casements. This building is continuous with No 1, Chapel Street, and forms a group with Nos 1, 2, 3, and 5, along with No 1 Chapel.
