Description

This is a brick wall that originally served the garden of Southover Old House. The wall largely dates to the 18th century, although it was rebuilt in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a rendered plinth and a soldier course coping along the top. The wall stands 9 feet high and extends for 25 yards. Approximately 10 yards from the east end, there is a tall arch with projecting piers and a segment-headed arch. The wall is listed at group value, acknowledging its contribution to the character of the wider Southover area.
