Description
Roxfords Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 16th century, with later additions from the 18th century and late 19th century. It features stone walls and a tiled roof. The front of the cottage, which faces north, is one storey with an attic and has two windows. There is an eastern extension from the late 19th century that is two storeys high and has one window, with a slightly angled west wall. The cottage includes two gabled dormers. The walls are made of roughly-coursed malmstone, with red brick quoins and a moulded plinth, showing some altered features, including a doorway that has been converted into a window and another opening that has been filled in. The windows are casements. The doorway is notable for its heavy moulded canopy supported by carved brackets, and it features a six-panelled door, with the top two panels being glazed. The rear of the cottage is similar in style, with additional alterations.
