Description

West Court is a house dating back to the 16th century, with later additions from the 18th and 19th centuries. It appears to have medieval origins, originally constructed as a hall with cross-wings. The north front has three gables, with the ends projecting forward. The walls are constructed of squared malmstone, with brick dressings. The windows are casements. A traditional doorway is sheltered by a hood formed by an extension of the roof supported by brackets. The rear elevation is similar, but the upper walls of the central section are brick, laid in a Monk bond pattern. Timber framing is visible internally.
