Description
This description is for a pair of attached barns located 25 meters southwest of Godwins Farm, dating from the 17th or 18th century. The barns meet at right angles and are constructed of timber, with parts weatherboarded and others encased in brick. They have corrugated iron roofs.
The barn on the right is a 5-bay structure from the 18th century, featuring an open right bay and a lower single bay addition at the end. The other bays have 20th-century brick aisles on each side. The barn on the left is also a 5-bay structure, situated on a slope with its farther end raised on a brick wall due to the lowered ground level. This barn includes an aisle at the far end and side, as well as double doors leading to the next bay, which is covered by a large flat-roofed porch from the 20th century. There are doors and windows in the other bays.
Inside both barns, there are queen post truss roofs. The first barn is used as a dairy, while the second serves as a grain store, equipped with 20th-century grain storage equipment.
