Description
Nos 163 and 164 High Street is a pair of houses and shops dating from the early to mid 18th century. The buildings are timber-framed and tile-hung, featuring a prominent dentilled cornice above a plain tiled roof. The roof has two segment-headed dormers and stacks located at the rear. The structure stands three storeys tall with attics and has a regular three-window front. The second floor has wood-framed casements, while the first floor features glazing bar sashes. To the left, there is a double shopfront with central glazed doors. A central alley entrance leads to No 163A at the rear. On the right, there is a large late 19th-century shopfront with half-glazed doors on either side, both of which have transom lights above.
