Description
Hilltop and Homeside are a pair of houses located on the east side of High Street in Hambledon. They date back to the 16th century and feature a timber frame, which was reclad in the 18th century. Early 19th-century rear extensions were added to create two separate dwellings. The upper part of the houses has an exposed frame with painted brick infill and other walling, set on a cement plinth. The north gable displays the original jetty of the upper floor. The rear walls are constructed of flint with brick dressings, and the houses have a tiled roof. The symmetrical west front has two storeys and two windows. The upper windows are early 19th-century sashes in exposed frames, while the lower windows are 20th-century splayed bays with casements. The doorways feature moulded canopies supported by carved brackets and have six-panelled doors.
