Description
The cartshed located to the south-southeast of Westbury Manor House is an 18th-century structure. It features a weatherboarded timber frame and a thatched half-hipped roof. The building has a plan that includes a 4-bay open front with aisles at both the front and back.
On the exterior, the open front is supported by timber posts with curved braces. Inside, the 4-bay frame also has aisles at the front and back, with jowled posts that have straight braces connecting to the arcade-plates and tie-beams. The tie-beam trusses are constructed with queen-struts that rise to clasped purlins and diminishing principal-rafters, while the common-rafters and battens are intact. The wall-framing remains in good condition.
