Description

Arkle Cottage, formerly known as Midlington Farm Cottages, is a 17th-century timber-framed building that was reclad around 1800. The walls are made of painted brickwork arranged in Flemish Garden Wall bond, with a cement plinth. The rear wall features exposed framing in the upper section. The cottage has a tile roof that is half-hipped at the north end and hipped at the south, extending to low eaves with gabled dormers. The west front elevation has one storey and an attic, with two windows above three. The windows are 20th-century casements, and there is a boarded door set in a plain frame.
