Description

Soberton Cottage and Gate Piers is a cottage that originally served as stables for Soberton House, later converted into a dwelling in 1968. It dates back to the 17th century and features a timber frame with 20th-century alterations and extensions. The cottage has an exposed frame with painted brick infill and a tile roof, which includes a catslide at the rear and a wide flat-roofed dormer. The south elevation is one storey and an attic, with three windows above five, and there is a 20th-century extension to the east that includes a garage block. The windows and doorway are also from the 20th century. To the north, along the roadside, there is a high flint wall that is interrupted by simple brick gate piers topped with urns.
