Description

This is a house, now divided into two cottages, likely dating back to the 16th century, although it was extensively remodelled in the 19th century. The ground floor is faced with painted brick, while the first floor is clad in decorative tile hanging in alternating scalloped and plain bands. The roof is tiled with a tall brick chimney stack at one end. The building is two storeys high, with a jetty (a projecting upper floor) over the ground floor. The windows are arranged irregularly, with three triple-sash windows on the first floor, lacking glazing bars. To the left is a six-light mullioned window; at the centre is a small, canted oriel bay window under the jetty, supported by brackets; and towards the right are a glazing-bar sash and a double-glazing-bar sash. Boarded doors are located to the left and right of the centre, with a flat hood over the door on the right. A quadrant link connects the building to the Swan public house on the right, this link has a lower-pitched, curved tiled roof and is stuccoed, indicating the line of its jetty. A single glazing-bar sash window is present on the first floor of the link. The ground floor has a recessed entrance with a wooden arch and weatherboarding above to the left.
