Description

George House is a large 18th-century house located on the east side of East Street in Petworth. It is two storeys high and features six windows, with the northernmost window-bay being recessed and likely a later addition. The building is constructed of red brick and includes a stringcourse and a parapet. The glazing bars are intact, and there are Venetian shutters on the ground floor. The small porch at the front is solid, with pilasters, a projecting cornice, and a door made up of six fielded panels. Above the porch, there is a stone figure of a lion.
