Description
Itchen Stoke Mill is a mill with an attached miller's cottage, dating from the 18th century. The building is constructed of brick and features an old plain tiled roof. The two-storey miller's cottage has three bays, while the mill to the right has three bays as well, with the right bay extending over the mill race. There is also a two-bay store to the right of the mill, which is situated at a higher level and steps forward from the mill.
The original door to the cottage was located in the right bay but has been replaced by a window, and the current door is now in the centre bay of the mill, flanked by offset brick buttresses. All windows are 20th-century oak framed with leaded lights and camber heads. The right bay of the mill features a brick arch over the mill stream with a small window to illuminate the wheel. The store has a stable-type door in the centre, a square window on the first floor, and offset, toothed eaves. There are ridge stacks at each end of the miller's cottage, and a later stack has been inserted over the right bay of the mill. Each roof is separate, with a step-up gable wall between them.
