Description
The Old Rectory is a rectory that has been converted into a private house. It was built in the mid-18th century and altered in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and has a stuccoed front, with a slate roof. It is T-shaped, featuring a service wing at the rear, and has two storeys and a cellar, with three bays.
The central front door, which is from the 19th century, is located in a gabled, glazed porch. On either side of the door are tripartite sash windows with glazing bars; the right window is a 19th-century addition with elliptical heads to the sash heads. Above the door, there are three smaller tripartite sashes set in moulded frames, with panelled pilasters between the lights and entablatures above. The building has brick dentil eaves and a low-pitched roof with a rendered ridge stack positioned between the right and central bays. At the right end, there is a black stuccoed two-storey bow.
Inside, the decor mainly dates from the late 18th century and 19th century, featuring fireplaces, doors, window reveals, ceilings, and a staircase from that period.
