Description
Church Cottage is a cottage built in the 17th and 18th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with colour washed brick infill and a roof made of old plain and fishscale tiles. The original building consists of three bays from the 17th century, with two additional bays from the 18th century added to the right. There is a large 18th-century gable stack with bread ovens located at the left end. The cottage is one and a half storeys high and has four bays in total, with a door at the left end of the 17th-century section. The windows are mostly from the 20th century, except for the three-light casements in the end bays, which date to the 19th century. Above, there are three irregular 19th-century gabled dormers with bargeboards and clay finials. The roof has been raised and features an 18th-century stack to the right of the centre 17th-century bay, a large stack at the left end, and a stack between the 18th-century bays.
