Description
The Thatch is a cottage that was once two cottages, constructed in the 17th and 18th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with colour washed brick infill and additions, topped with a thatched roof and a brick stack. The building has a two-bay 17th-century section at the front, which includes a central smoke bay, with an 18th-century bay added to the road-facing end. It is one and a half storeys high and has three bays in total. There are doors located at the right end and in the centre of the 18th-century bay, both sheltered by thatched pent-roofed porches. The windows are from the 20th century, and there are three eyebrow dormers. The roof is both half-hipped and hipped, and there is a large multi-flue ridge stack over the smoke bay. Additionally, there are 20th-century additions at the rear, made of colour washed brick and also featuring a thatched roof.
