Description
The Old School House is a building that dates from the early 19th century, originally serving as a school and attached master's house, and is now a private residence. The structure features rustic walls made of flint nodules and some brick, topped with a thatched roof. It is two storeys high and has a two-bay front. At each end, there are added lean-tos with weatherboarded walls and tiled porches. In the central section, there are two 3-light mullioned and transomed windows, with two 2-light casements above. The roof includes a ridge piece and a large central ridge flint stack. On the right end, there is a canted bay with a 3-light casement on each floor and a tiled hipped roof, which has carved bargeboards above the gable. At the rear on the right side, there is a single-storey school room that features a two-window range, constructed of flint and brick, with an old plain tiled roof.
