Description

This is an 18th-century cottage, originally two dwellings, with 20th-century restoration and exterior alterations. The cottage has stone and brick walls and a thatched roof. The front (south) elevation is symmetrical, featuring one storey and an attic, with two windows above four. There are extensions at each side. The roof is half-hipped at the east end, above a tiled extension, hipped at the west, and brought to low eaves above the extension, with eyebrow dormers. The west side has walls of malmstone rubble with brick dressings, while the east side is red brickwork in a Flemish bond pattern. Ground-floor openings have cambered arches (formerly doorways, now windows). Stone walls are present on the east side of the extension, and boarding on the west. Casement windows are fitted. A door is located in a plain recess on the east side.
