Description
Shepherds Mead is a cottage dating from the 17th century and early 19th century. The lower walls are constructed of old brickwork, while the upper walls feature brickwork in Monk bond. The rear of the cottage has exposed timber framing with plaster above brick infill panels. The south wall is made of ironstone with brick dressings, and the upper part is tile-hung. The roof is half-hipped and covered with tiles, featuring three gabled dormers. This single-storeyed timber-framed house has been raised and re-clad at a later date. The north-west front consists of one storey and an attic, with three windows, including casements and two sashes. The entrance has a boarded door in a plain frame, sheltered by a wide tiled canopy supported by posts. The interior framework suggests the original single-storeyed design. The cottage was formerly known as Pook Cottage.
