Description
The Old Kings is a former public house, now a store, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of deeply-coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof with concrete tiles at the rear.
The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range, with a wing extending to the rear left. It has large quoins and a quoined carriage entrance on the right, which includes boarded doors and corbels supporting a wooden lintel. To the left, there is a 20th-century casement window with a projecting stone sill set within a painted ashlar surround. On the first floor, there are similar surrounds for 6/6 sash windows. An ashlar chimney stack with a band is located at the left end of the building.
On the right side, there is an upper 6/6 sash window in a similar surround to those on the front elevation. The doorway from the carriage passageway features a channelled wooden architrave with corner blocks and a 20th-century door, with 20th-century casements on either side. There is also a cellar drop with an 8/8 sash window above it, along with various 2/2 and 6/6 sash windows at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
