Description

The boundary walls, gate piers, and gate at Bagshaw Hall date from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. They are constructed from coursed limestone and coursed sandstone, featuring ashlar sandstone piers and copings, along with an iron gate. The roadside wall marks the boundary to the south and east of Bagshaw Hall. There is a vehicle entrance at the rear of Bagshaw Hall and a gated pedestrian entrance located near the south side. A short section of wall separates the front garden of Bagshaw Hall from that of The Hall Cottage.

The rear vehicle entrance is flanked by rusticated piers topped with upswept pedestals that support ball finials. The wall on the left is made of coursed limestone with two-course triangular copings, while the wall on the right is constructed from deeply-coursed sandstone with flat copings that curve down and then up to the side gate. This wall features moulded plinths, rusticated shafts with cornices, and upswept pedestals leading to large ball finials, along with a restored 19th-century iron gate. The wall follows the curve of Bagshaw Hill to maintain the high ground in front of the hall, and there is a freestanding section of wall at the north end of the front garden that includes a gate opening.
