Description

Woodside is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone, featuring gritstone dressings and chamfered quoins. The building has a plinth and a moulded eaves cornice, topped with a plain tile roof that has a stone ridge and stone gable end stacks. The gables are stone coped and do not have kneelers.

The house is two storeys high and has two bays. The central entrance features a moulded doorcase with a pedimented hoodmould above, and the lintel is inscribed with the initials 'WPT'. Below this is a 20th-century plank door. On either side of the door, there are plain sash windows set in a flush surround with a moulded bead along the edge. Above, there are two similar windows with plain sashes, each adorned with a central circular decoration resembling a flower within a circular bead.

Inside, the house includes stone spiral staircases leading to the cellar and first floor, as well as a fine original fireplace flanked by Doric pilasters. The fireplace features a raised fluted keystone, a moulded cornice, and a mantleshelf.
