Description
Ty Cerrig and the attached cottage are a pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century, with minor alterations made in the 20th century. They are constructed of coursed squared gritstone, featuring gritstone dressings and quoins. The roofs are covered with plain tiles and have stone-coped gables at each end, which are adorned with banded ball finials over moulded kneelers. There is a stone gable end stack on the west side and a stone ridge stack.
The buildings are two storeys high, with two bays for each cottage. Ty Cerrig, located on the east, has a central flush doorcase that features a four-centred arched lintel resting on raised impost blocks. The top corners of the lintel are decorated with relief florets, and there is a glazed panelled door. On either side of the door, there are two-light flush mullion windows with pointed lights, and there are two similar windows above on the upper floor. The attached cottage to the west has a similar appearance, but the doorcase's four-centred arched lintel features plain incised spandrels. All the windows throughout the cottages are either four-pane casements or fixed lights.
