Description
Hall Farmhouse and the attached barn date from the late 17th century and mid 19th century. They are constructed of rubble limestone with gritstone dressings, featuring stone slate and Welsh slate roofs, as well as stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. The building has an L-plan and is two storeys high.
The west elevation includes flush angle quoins, with the ground floor featuring a 3-light and a 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion window, both from the 19th century. There is a moulded string course on the first floor with a step, and two windows above the recessed and chamfered surrounds, also raised in the 19th century.
On the east elevation, there is a 20th-century window on the ground floor, a 17th-century 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window with a moulded hood mould on the first floor, and two 17th-century chamfered oval windows set in rectangular surrounds with moulded hood moulds in the gable. The gable shows clear evidence of having been raised in the 19th century.
The north elevation has two 17th-century single light windows on the first floor. The barn, attached to the south, features three doors and a window on its main elevation, along with three window openings above.
