Description
The outbuilding at Watergrove Mine is a mine building dating from around 1830, now serving as an outbuilding. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and features a stone slate roof with stone coped gables and moulded kneelers. The building has remains of gable end stacks and consists of two bays over two storeys. There is a wide central doorcase with a large lintel that is now partly blocked, and a plank door on the west side. On either side of the doorcase, there are wide window openings without glazing. Above these, there are two additional wide window openings, also unglazed, which have timber lintels and are partly blocked towards the centre of the building. A lean-to structure is attached to the east gable wall, and at the rear, there is a flight of steps leading up to the first floor. The building is listed for its historical interest as an early example of an industrial structure associated with lead mining.
