Description
Shatton Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-16th century and later. It is constructed of rubble gritstone, with some areas cement rendered, and features gritstone dressings. The roof is made of stone slate and includes a stone gable end stack and two ridge stacks. The building has angle quoins and is two storeys tall, designed in a T-plan.
The east wing is the oldest part of the structure. On the south elevation, there is a projecting cross wing on the left, which has a ground floor 2-light window with a moulded surround and a 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion window above it. To the right, there is a stone doorcase with a pediment that connects to the return wall of the cross wing. The doorway features a stone lintel with a cambered arch and a 17th-century plank door. Adjacent to this is a 5-light ovolo moulded mullion window with depressed arched lights and diamond leading. Above it, there is a 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window with pointed lights, and to the right, a 1-light recessed and chamfered mullion window.
The west elevation includes a 3-light square section flush mullion window, with doorways on each side that have stone surrounds, one of which is now partly blocked. Above this, there is a 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window and a single light window to the left. The north elevation is irregular and features a single light recessed and chamfered window with a pointed head, a 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window, and three glazing bar sashes.
