Description
The Homestead and attached outbuildings is a house that has been converted from its original use, dating back to the 17th century with alterations made in the late 18th century. It is constructed from rubble gritstone with gritstone dressings and features a stone slate roof, which has one stone coped gable, a stone ridge stack, and two gable end stacks. The building is two storeys high, with the house part located to the east and the former outbuildings attached to the west, angled slightly forward.
The eastern section was refronted in the late 18th century and includes a central doorway with a chamfered stone surround and a raised and fielded panelled door. On either side of the doorway are glazing bar sash windows, with two additional glazing bar sashes located above. The former outbuildings feature, from left to right, a 20th-century segmental carriage arch with stone voussoirs and a single light window above with a stone surround. There is a similar carriage arch with a window above that has a chamfered surround and was formerly fitted with a mullion. To the right, there is a window with a recessed and chamfered surround, along with a similar window above, both originally having a central mullion. Additionally, there is a doorway with a chamfered stone surround and a 19th-century plank door, with a 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion window above.
