Description
The rectory and attached coach house, built between 1856 and 1860 by William Butterfield, is constructed from coursed squared gritstone with ashlar dressings and features Welsh slate roofs with stone coped gables and moulded kneelers. The building is two and a half storeys tall with asymmetrical elevations. The south elevation has three bays, with the centre bay being advanced and gabled. This bay includes a tri-partite window on the ground floor with central French windows, and a window above with three glazing bar sashes. To the left, there is a window with two single bar sashes and a similar window above that rises into an eaves dormer. To the right, there is a single window with a casement. A first floor string course runs along the centre and left bay. The north elevation is irregular, featuring a tall trefoiled staircase window and a projecting porch with a hipped roof. Some windows have segmental relieving arches above, and the upper windows to the west have pointed arched tympana. The coach house is attached to the southeast, along with a low wall. Inside, there is a cantilevered stone staircase with metal banisters.
