Description
Newhaven Lodge is an early 19th-century house located on the west side of Buxton Road in the parish of Hartington Town Quarter. It is constructed of rendered stone with gritstone dressings and quoins. The front features a 20th-century tile roof, while the rear wing has stone slates. The building has stone-coped gables with plain kneelers and stone gable end stacks that display plain banding.
The house is two storeys tall and has three bays in an L-plan layout. The central entrance features a quoined doorcase with a semi-circular head, a projecting keystone, and imposts. A 20th-century glazed door is set beneath a traceried fanlight. Flanking the entrance are glazing bar sash windows in plain surrounds, and above are three similar windows. The south elevation also has a central doorcase with glazing bar sashes in plain surrounds on either side and above.
