Description

The garden wall at Wye Cottage and Granby Cottage is a structure from the 18th or 19th century. It is built of rubble limestone and features sandstone copings. The wall has a low curved section at the end gable of Granby Cottage and a taller section that lines Water Street. This taller section includes two quoined openings and a part with flat copings that arches over a gated entrance and returns to enclose the yard. The wall is an important element of the garden setting for both Wye Cottage and Granby Cottage.
