Description
The Grange is a house built in the early 19th century, possibly incorporating an earlier structure. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins, topped with a stone slate roof. The house features stone gable end and ridge stacks, and the gables are stone coped with moulded kneelers.
The building is two storeys high and has two bays in an L-plan layout. The south elevation includes an advanced bay to the east, which has a centrally placed glazing bar sash window in a plain surround. There is a similar window on the west wall. The doorcase on the west side has a stepped architrave and a moulded cornice, leading to a 19th-century glazed and panelled door. To the side of the door, there is another glazing bar sash window in a plain surround. Above this door, there is a similar window located at the eaves of the eastern gable wall. At the rear, there is a transomed stair window to the east that retains its original leaded lights.
