Description

Shamble Cottage is a late 18th-century cottage and former workshop situated in the parish of Ashford in the Water. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins, and has a slate roof. The building is three storeys high and comprises two bays. A central, 20th-century stone porch has been added. A two-light flush mullion window is located to the west, while a single-light flush window is positioned to the east. Similar windows are found on the upper floors, arranged in the same pattern. A six-light flush mullion window, situated under the eaves, represents the former workshop. All windows are 20th-century casements.
