Description
This outbuilding, located to the north of the Fold, was originally a pair of cottages built in the 17th century. It is constructed from rubble limestone with sandstone dressings and features a stone slate roof with stone coped gables and moulded kneelers. The building is two storeys high and has flush quoins. On the southeast elevation, there are two doorways, one on the right and one on the left, each with quoins, a stone lintel, and a plank door. Between the doorways, there is a two-light chamfer mullion window, with a similar two-light window above it and a larger two-light window above and to the left. In the 1930s, the outbuilding was used as a studio by the portrait painter Edward Halliday.
