Description
This cottage, located to the northeast of the Vicarage, dates from the mid-18th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings and features a coped southeast gable with a moulded kneeler. A truncated stone ridge stack is positioned at the northwest end, and the roof is covered with stone slates and Welsh slates. The building has an L-plan layout.
On the northeast elevation, there are two storeys and a single bay that includes a 2-light flush mullioned window with 19th-century casements above a mid-19th-century window featuring a heavy lintel and glazing bars for fixed lights. The southeast gable retains 18th-century surrounds to a 2-light window, along with one mullion. A catslide roof on the southwest elevation covers the entrance lobby. There is a small fire window on both the ground and first floors, although the upper one is now blocked. This cottage is listed for its group value only.
