Description
This is a stile, likely dating from the early 19th century, located between the bridge over the mill tailrace and the Milford House Hotel in Bakewell. It features gritstone pillars and limestone walling, with a pair of offset pillars and short sections of rubble wall attached. The stile has rounded gritstone copings and restricts the opening to the footpath on the south side of the tailrace leading to Victoria Mill on Buxton Road. A chamfered pillar at the mouth of the stile was removed in 1981.
