Description
West Lodge and attached walls at Thornbridge Hall were built around 1897. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins, topped with a plain tile roof. It features moulded stone coped gables and a ridge stone stack. The lodge is a single storey, two-bay building in a T-plan layout. On the west gable wall, there is a central canted bay window with recessed and chamfered mullion windows. The east side has a recessed section. A quoined doorcase is set at an angle in the corner, topped with a bracketed stone hood. On either side of the door, there are 3-light chamfered mullion windows with dripmoulds above and leaded casements. To the north, there is an attached stepped limestone rubble wall with moulded copings and two sets of gates, one of which has urn finials on square piers.
