Description

SK 17 SE PARISH OF ASHFORD IN THE WATER LONGSTONE LANE 3/48 (East Side) West Lodge and attached walls at Thornbridge Hall GV II

Lodge and attached walls. c1897. Coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins. Plain tile roof. Moulded stone coped gables with ridge stone stack. Single storey, two bays, T-plan. To west gable wall, central canted bay window with recessed and chamfered mullion windows. To east, recessed section. Quoined doorcase, set at angle in corner with bracketed stone hood over. To either side, 3-light chamfered mullion windows with dripmould over and leaded casements. Attached to north, stepped limestone rubble wall with moulded copings and two sets of gates, one with urn finials to square piers.
