Description
This pair of unoccupied cottages, dating from 1777 to 1782, is located approximately 200 yards southwest of Bolland's Hall. The cottages are constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. They feature a clay tile roof with coped verges on kneelers and have a coursed and squared rubble central stack along with an integral end stack. Each cottage is a single cell and two storeys high, with slightly irregular window placements. The ground floor has windows on the left with a straight dripstone and to the right of centre, while the first floor has windows to the left and right of centre. All windows consist of two lights with a central flat-faced mullion and contain casements. There are board doors to the right and left of centre. The quoins of the left-hand cottage extend down the centre of the range, indicating the two phases of construction. Inside, there are chamfered mullions.
