Description
The Old Forge is an 18th-century house located on the north side of Main Street in the parish of Winster. It is constructed from rubble limestone and gritstone, featuring gritstone dressings, projecting quoins, coved eaves, coped gables, end ridge stacks, and a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with 2-light flush mullioned windows set in projecting stone frames. On the ground floor, there is a 3-light mullioned window at the east end. The windows are modern casements with leaded lights. The central doorway has a quoined surround and features a modern panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above. To the west of the current door, there is a blocked doorway that is lower and has a massive lintel with a quoined surround.
