Description
Townend Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse that was restored in the mid-20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and features chamfered quoins. The roof is made of plain tiles with a stone ridge, and the gables are stone-coped with moulded kneelers. There are stone gable end and ridge stacks with plain banding. The building has two storeys and four bays.
On the east side, there is a doorcase with a chamfered quoin surround and a lintel that has incised voussoirs and a keystone. To the east of the door, there is a large two-light flush mullion window, and to the west, there are two similar windows. Above the door, there are three similar flush single light windows. All the windows are 20th-century casements.
