Description
Ivy Cottage is a farmhouse that has been converted into a cottage, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and features a stone slate roof. The building has three chimneys: a brick one at the gable end to the west, a stone one at the gable end to the east, and a stone ridge stack. The gable ends are adorned with moulded stone copings and kneelers.
The cottage is two storeys high and consists of four bays. On the west side, there are two 2-light flush mullion windows with dripmoulds above them. On the east side, there is a single light window next to a raised and fielded panelled door, which has the top two panels glazed and is topped by a large gritstone lintel. Further east, there is a casement window beneath a lintel and dripmould. Above this, there are four 2-light flush mullion windows. All the windows are 20th-century leaded casements.
