Description
Green Lea, Green Croft, and Green Gables are three houses that were originally one farmhouse, built in the mid-18th century and early 19th century. The buildings are constructed from coursed rubble limestone with sandstone dressings and feature a plain tile roof with brick ridge and gable end stacks. They stand two storeys tall, with a three-storey cross wing at the south end, which is the oldest part of the structure.
The east elevation has six bays. From left to right, there is a 2-light square sectioned mullion window with a dripmould, followed by a similar window above it. Next is a projecting gabled bay that contains an off-centre 3-light mullion window, with a centrally placed 2-light window above, and another similar 2-light window above that, both with dripmoulds. To the right, there is a 20th-century gabled porch with a single light window above, framed in stone. Following this is a 3-light window with a similar 2-light window above. There is a blocked doorway with stone quoins and a lintel, which has been altered to include a 19th-century casement window, with a 2-light window above it. To the right, there is a later window with a 2-light mullion window above, and a 20th-century doorway.
