Description
Thorpe Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century, which was restored and enlarged around 1980. It is constructed of rubble limestone with sandstone dressings and features plain tile roofs with two brick gable end stacks. The building is two storeys high and has an L-plan layout.
The west elevation is double fronted, with a central doorway that has a moulded stone surround, frieze, and cornice. The door is six-panelled, with the top panels being glazed. On either side of the doorway are top-hung casement windows designed to imitate glazing bar sashes, each with moulded stone surrounds. There are two similar windows located above the doorway. The cottage also has a moulded eaves cornice.
