Description
Hollins Farmhouse and the attached barn date from the early 17th century and 18th century. The building is constructed of rubble gritstone with gritstone dressings and quoins, topped by a stone slate roof featuring a stone ridge stack, a brick ridge stack, and a brick gable end stack. It is two storeys high with a south elevation that has five irregular bays. The house is located to the right. The oldest section, which is next to the barn, includes a 4-light recessed and chamfered mullion window, with a similar 3-light window above it. Quoins on the right indicate the start of the double fronted 18th-century section, which features a central doorway with quoins and a lintel, along with a plank door. This doorway is flanked by two 2-light square section mullion windows, with two similar windows above. The barn has two doorways with quoins and lintels, each with plank doors, and a small window opening between them. Above, there are two square openings with flush stone surrounds.
