Description
Church Cottage, Vestry Cottage, and Wesley Cottage are a pair of houses that have been converted into three dwellings, dating from the late 18th century. They are built from coursed, squared gritstone with a punched finish and have a 20th-century cement-tile roof. Originally, they were designed as a mirrored pair with a parallel range at the back, all under a twin roof. The buildings rise three storeys and feature four windows on the first floor. Each house has a plinth and large quoins. There is an off-centre panelled door for each house, set in chamfered quoined reveals with a deep lintel. The right doorway has an inserted door to its right. Each house is flanked by three-light square-faced stone mullion windows on every floor, all with narrow mullions and wooden casements. The design includes moulded kneelers and gable copings, as well as corniced ashlar stacks at the ends and ridge. There is a two-storey house adjoining to the right, but it is not of special interest.
