Description
Ashby Cottages is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of deeply coursed, squared gritstone, with thinly bedded sandstone on the return and rear, and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and two windows on the first floor. It includes a plinth and large quoins. The central entrance consists of a 20th-century part-glazed door set within a quoined surround. There is a window on each floor, all with square-faced stone surrounds and three-light wood casements, with the first-floor windows being wider. The cottage has ashlar end stacks that feature a band and cornice. An attached cottage to the left is not of special interest.
