Description
Glutton Grange is a farmhouse dated 1675, but it appears to have been externally altered in the mid 18th century, with 19th-century additions. The building is constructed of coursed squared limestone, featuring gritstone quoins and painted dressings, topped with a stone slate roof. It has three storeys and three bays, along with a single bay, two-storey addition to the east.
On the south elevation, there is a central doorcase with quoined edges. The door is raised and fielded panelled, with a plain rectangular fanlight above. Flanking the door are three-light flush mullion windows, with two similar windows above and a 2-light window over the door. Above these, there are two shallower three-light flush mullion windows at the eaves. Between these windows is a circular stone plaque inscribed with 'AD 1675'. All the windows are 19th-century casements. The east side features a 19th-century single bay addition with a slate roof, which includes a top hung casement in a flush gritstone surround, along with a similar window above. An adjoining barn is located to the west of the farmhouse.
