Description
This building is a house located to the south west of 'The Headlands', dating from the late 17th century and refashioned in the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with gritstone quoins, featuring coved eaves, moulded kneelers, coped gables, end ashlar ridge stacks, and a roof covered with concrete tiles. The house has an 'L' plan and presents a roughcast gable to the street.
On the north elevation, the house is two storeys high and has three bays. It originally featured 2-light flush mullioned windows, with heads and cills linked by continuous bands, but these are now mostly blocked or altered, except for the restored window at the far east end on the ground floor. There are tall 19th-century openings with single glazing bar sashes and fixed lights set into flush stone frames. At the west end, there is an inserted 18th-century surround with a moulded architrave and key block, which contains a 19th-century single glazing bar sash window. Additionally, there is a blocked 2-light chamfered mullioned window to the cellar from the 17th century.
The south elevation features two doorways, one of which is from the 17th century and is blocked, showcasing massive quoining and a lintel.
