Description

Upper Damgate Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a clay tile roof with coped verges. The building has an integral dressed stone end stack and a ridge stack. The farmhouse consists of two parallel ranges and has a three-room lobby-entry plan, with the staircase located in the rear range. It stands three storeys high, with reduced proportions on the second floor. There are three windows, all of which are mullioned, featuring two lights and flat faced mullions. The windows on the second floor retain 4-pane casements, while the others have 20th-century pivoted lights. To the right of the centre, there is a 20th-century glazed door with a bracketed hood. Inside, there is a corbelled fireplace in the centre room.
